The monograph consists of two sections: 1. A set of secondary research articles, devoted to various Prague (Czech) aspects of the life of the Sorbian poet J. Bart-Ćišinski: Adolf Černý on the life and work of Jakub Bart-Ćišinski (Petr Kaleta), Jakub Bart-Ćišinski in the Czech surroundings: literary-historical reception and translations (Helena Ulbrechtová), The poetry of Jakub Bart-Ćišinski (Josef Suchý), On the sound structure of Jakub Bart-Ćišinski’s poetry (Josef Vlášek), Modernist tendencies in Sorbian literature (Josef Vlášek), The collection “Swětło z wyšiny” or Ćišinski and literary modernity (Franc Šěn) and The birth of a poet in Bohumila Šretrová’s novel “Chcu domoj” (Marcel Černý). The book also contains bibliography (I. The Czech context of the life and work of Jakub Bart-Ćišinski; II. The texts of Jakub Bart-Ćišinski translated into Czech). 2. A Sorbian-Czech anthology of poetic texts, consisting of mirror-version translations of selections from Ćišinski’s poetry.
