The publication analyses the CS Legend of St Anastasia. In the Introduction chapter we give a sketch of the state of exploration of Czech OCS monuments. In the subsequent exposition we evaluated the basic existential conditions for OCS literature in Přemyslid Bohemia. The starting point for further exposition was the material base of the legend allowing a classification of the text from the text linguistic and linguistic point of view. The known and by us discovered manuscript material became the basis of a new edition of the legend and the index verborum. The legend’s lexical analysis shows a great number of agreements with later Czech OCS monuments with a Latin model (Bes, VencNik). Also repeated agreements with Old Czech vocabulary point in the same direction. The listed proofs justify the supposition of the legend of St Anastasia’s Czech origin. The hypotheses locating the creation of the legend in the Czech area (11th century) have a much higher argumentation value.
