In our contribution, we refer to the possibilities that Miloš Dokulil’s theory of word formation provides in identifying a) types of word-formation competitive situations with the participation of neologisms, with regard to communication factors, which participate in their emergence and possible stabilization, b) the relationship of implementing individual types of word-formation relations and the typological dispositions of the specific language system. From the point of view of the confrontation of Czech and Bulgarian, we mention particular types of variant pairs (lines) of new noun denominations of persons, as used in written texts on the internet.
